Photography has been a life-long passion. Originally a prairie girl from Winnipeg, I moved to the Rockies to study photography at the Banff Centre, where I was subsequently employed as a full-time photographer. I went on to do freelance and contract work which included the performing arts, outdoor adventure, portraits, and landscape photography.
I left professional photography to move to Calgary and pursue other career interests. However, with the advent of the digital medium, I returned to photography as an artistic pursuit, inspired in part by workshops led by internationally recognized, Freeman Patterson, André Gallant, Mark Koegel and John Paul Caponigro.
In the past two years, I have participated in solo shows and in multiple group exhibitions at PhotoHaus Gallery in Vancouver, including the “Mobileography” cell phone photography show, and “Eros,” a fine art nude exhibition. My work has been featured in the Calgary Stampede “Brand” exhibition at Calgary’s Artpoint Gallery and in juried group shows at the Pynelogs Gallery in Invermere, BC. at Elevation Place Gallery in Canmore, and at Resolve Photo Gallery in Calgary.
An avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast, I continue to explore photography together with textures, techniques, mounting surfaces and multi-media to create new avenues of artistic expression.
